U.S. acting attorney general Whitaker urged to recuse himself from Russia probe

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- A group of 18 U.S. state attorneys general Thursday urged the new Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker to recuse himself from an ongoing investigation on the alleged Russian involvement in the 2016 U.S. general elections.
In a cosigned letter, the attorneys general said that Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe "must proceed free from interference."
