Ombudsman launches racism, tribalism and discrimination report

WINDHOEK, 23 NOV (NAMPA) – Ombudsman John Walters on Thursday launched a report on a national inquiry into racism, racial and other forms of discrimination and tribalism.
The report named ‘A nation divided: Why do racism and other forms of discrimination still persist 27 years after independence?’ was compiled by the office of the Ombudsman after public hearings to establish the level of discrimination in Namibia.

WINDHOEK, 23 NOV (NAMPA) – The Swapo party is not a shortcut to personal wealth and power, but a movement of the people, President Hage Geingob has said.
Speaking during the official opening of the party’s 6th ordinary congress on Thursday, Geingob said the party was not a personality cult or an exclusive club, but bigger than any individual.
He said personal interests in the party should be buried and the growth of the country should be pursued instead of individual careers.
