PG calls for a speedy justice system

SWAKOPMUND, 17 OCT (NAMPA) – Prosecutor-General Martha Imalwa on Wednesday urged public prosecutors to finalise court cases speedily.
Imalwa was speaking during a stakeholders’ consultative meeting here with members of the Namibian Police Force, Police Public Relations Committee, prosecutors as well as members of the neighbourhood watch groups in the Erongo Region.
She reiterated the concern that the Namibian judiciary system is too slow as cases are not being dealt with within the stipulated time frame.

Man arrested for alleged rape of niece at Outjo

OUTJO, 17 OCT (NAMPA) – A 20-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday at Outjo for allegedly kidnapping and raping his two-year-old niece.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force in the Otjozondjupa Region, Warrant Officer Maureen Mbeha the same day confirmed to Nampa the arrest of the man on charges of kidnapping and rape.
She said the suspect allegedly lured the child from her parents’ residence, together with two other minor children from the same house on Tuesday morning.
