NASP Africa All Star team selected

WINDHOEK, 20 APR (NAMPA) – The National Archery Schools Programme (NASP) on Thursday announced its teams that will represent the country at the 2017 NASP Africa All Stars Championship in July.
The Archery Association of Namibia (AAN) in partnership with the NASP will host the 2017 Africa All Star Championship at the SKW archery ranch in Windhoek on 07 and 08 July.
South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana and host Namibia are expected to compete at the event with 144 archers representing the four nations.
Namibia will be represented by two teams of 16 archers per team. The A team will be the national team while the B team will consist of developmental players.
Speaking to Nampa on Thursday, AAN secretary Karola Woortman said the teams are ready and hopeful of winning medals at the event.
She said the athletes have been training at their respective schools since last year, while the shooters will convene for camp in Windhoek on 16 June, for a team building final practice.
“I know we are going to win medals… If we win gold, that would really be nice,” she said.
Woortman added that AAN is proud of the athletes that were selected as their hard work has paid off.
The 2017 NASP African All Stars Namibian Team is under the management of Dewaal Louw as team manager and his supporting team of Rika Agenbach, Jeanine de Jager and Quintin Kruger.
