Senegalese tourist missing on Brandberg

SWAKOPMUND, 17 DEC (NAMPA) – The police in the Erongo Region on Sunday confirmed that a tourist who went missing at Brandberg Mountain on Friday is still to be found.
The region’s Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu in an incident report to the media said the search is still on.
Mark Mokosho, 37, a Senegalese residing in America, went missing while in Namibia on vacation.

Keetmanshoop police to intervene in Stein-Finich dispute

KEETMANSHOOP, 17 DEC (NAMPA) – The Namibian Police at Keetmanshoop are set to mediate in a long-running dispute between two neighbouring families in Smarties in the southern town’s Krönlein residential area.
The police were approached by the family of John Stein, 62, who is accused by his neighbour, Hilda Finich, 62, of allegedly provoking and assaulting her in an attempt to take possession of her house.

Mass memorial for car accident victims held on Okahandja-Karibieb road

OKAHANDJA, 14 DEC (NAMPA) - A mass memorial service was held Thursday for the 10 people who died in a car crash on the Okahandja-Karibib road on 04 December. Over 350 mourners gathered next to the road where the accident happened, some 20 kilometres from Okahandja, to remember and celebrate the lives of the people who died on the spot after the vehicles they were travelling in collided head-on and burst into flames.
