Presidential motorcade hits police officer

WINDHOEK, 20 NOV (NAMPA) – Acting Station Commander of the Omuthiya Police Station, Paulus Leonard was hit by a vehicle forming part of the Presidential motorcade on Sunday in the Oshikoto Region.
The officer sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Oshakati State Hospital in a serious but stable condition, Namibian Police Force Public Relations Officer, Chief Inspector Kauna Shikwambi confirmed.

Woman arrested for murder of boyfriend at Outjo

OTJIWARONGO, 20 NOV (NAMPA) – A 27-year-old woman was arrested Sunday night in connection with the murder of her boyfriend, who she allegedly stabbed three times at Outjo the same night.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Otjozondjupa Region, Warrant Officer Maureen Mbeha on Monday told Nampa the deceased was identified as Kivi Katjirumbu.
His next of kin are informed of his death.

GBV combating receives boost

WINDHOEK, 17 NOV (NAMPA) ? The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) has partnered with the United Nations Children?s Fund (UNICEF) to train a group of law enforcement trainers from the NamPol Training College and Gender Based Violence (GBV) Unit. This was done in a two-week intervention workshop aimed at helping combat GBV and violence against children. The workshop, themed \'Train the Trainer\' was launched on 08 November 2017 and ended on Friday with 15 male and 10 female law enforcement trainers receiving certificates of participation. The purpose of the workshop was to equip law enforcement trainers with specialised training in fields related to handling cases of GBV, child protection and children in conflict with the law.
